DONETSK/LUHANSK, October 5. /TASS/. Eastern Ukraine's self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR) are ready to revise the Minsk agreements, reads a joint statement on Wednesday.

The statement runs that the cancellation of the law on special status of ceratin areas in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions disrupts the peace process.

The new authorities of the self-proclaimed republics claim that the laws on special status for regions in eastern Ukraine, as well as on amnesty for the militias were Kiev's obligation.

“Kiev’s move to cancel the law on Donbass special status is dealing a serious blow to the Minsk negotiations process,” the joint statement released by the press services of both republics says.

“Instead of developing it and adopting it in a new version, agreed during the Minsk consultations, Poroshenko simply cancels it and proposes a new one instead which has not been agreed by the representatives of Donbass and which no one has seen.”

Both republics state that their governments cannot act based on the document which lacks “important points” and insist on its revision.

“We are ready to work on the new version of the protocol,” the statement says.

“We firmly confirm our strict observance of the September 19 Minsk memorandum on ceasefire and our commitment to the Minsk peace process in general,” it says.

Ukrainian parliament on Tuesday registered a bill on cancellation of the law on special status for eastern regions of Ukraine.
