KIEV, October 31. /TASS/. Ukraine’s president suggested on Friday that the Petro Poroshenko Bloc supports the idea of nominating Arseniy Yatsenyuk as the country’s new prime minister “on condition of detailed coordination of coalition agreement.”

“I have proposed that my faction in the Verkhovna Rada nominates Yatsenyuk as the head of the new cabinet,” Poroshenko wrote on Twitter.

At the meeting with lawmakers of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc, the president said he has received many proposals to nominate Volodymyr Groysman, who is currently the country’s deputy prime minister, instead of Yatsenyuk.

“But for the sake of the country’s unity I ask to support Arseniy Yatsenyuk,” Poroshenko said. He also stressed the need to “work out in detail a coalition agreement with defining specific time framework and implementing all the proposals in it.”

According to the latest data on the October 26 vote count, the Petro Poroshenko Bloc secured 22.16% of the votes, while the People’s Front led by Yatsenyuk won 21.83% of the votes.

The leader said the Petro Poroshenko Bloc has won the polls, as 132 lawmakers have been elected on party list and in single mandate constituencies, and are joined by 18 self-nominated candidates. The faction may consist of 150 lawmakers.

At the first meeting expected later on Friday, the representatives of three parties elected to the parliament - the Petro Poroshenko Bloc, the People’s Front and the Samopomich (Self-Help) - are due to discuss setting up a coalition in the parliament, the Verkhovna Rada.

On Wednesday, the representatives of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc and the People’s Front applied for establishing the coalition.

Yatsenyuk earlier proposed creating the European Ukraine coalition, and called the Petro Poroshenko Bloc a “strategic partner.” He also proposed involving Samopomich, Batkivshchyna (Fatherland) and the Radical Party of Oleh Lyashko in the coalition.
