MOSCOW/DONETSK, October 29. /TASS/. Elizaveta Glinka, head of the Fair Aid Foundation, who is widely known in Russia and abroad as Doctor Liza, is on the way to Moscow from Donetsk with a group of nine ill children who will undergo treatment in Moscow, Glinka told TASS on Wednesday.
Health Minister of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic Viktor Kuchkovoy said earlier that the children had been staying at the Donetsk Children's Clinical hospital and that they would continue treatment in Moscow.
In mid-October, Elizaveta Glinka appealed to President Putin, asking to ensure legislative support for sick and wounded children from Ukraine who need treatment in Russia.
A total of 62 children under 17 years of age have been evacuated from the south-east of Ukraine, including thirty-three children evacuated via Sloviansk from the war-torn town of Kramatorsk and who later were turned over to the Ukrainian side. The remaining children were evacuated to Russia for treatment.
"All these children suffer from serious, often inborn diseases, central nervous system disorders, which need continuous, costly treatment," Glinka said.
