West’s speculations about victory of pro-West forces in Ukraine are dangerous — diplomat
According to Grigory Karasin, western media force Ukraine to decide whether it wants to be with the West or with Russia
MOSCOW, October 28. /TASS/. Russia is worried over speculations in Western European media and political circles that supporters of a pro-Western course got the upper hand over those who are inclined towards friendly relations with Russia in the parliamentary elections in Ukraine, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister and State Secretary Grigory Karasin said on Tuesday.
“These are very dangerous speculations, which once again put Ukraine before a choice: whether it should be with the West or with Russia,” he said. “We have seen this and know what it ended in.”
“The elections are over, a coalition is being formed. Now, it is vital for the Ukrainian authorities to stop playing with geopolitical considerations and begin working on absolutely real and very complicated crisis-related tasks of the current situation in Ukraine,” he noted.
