Poroshenko’s Bloc leading Ukraine’s parliamentary polls with 22.2% — exit-poll
The Petro Poroshenko Bloc is followed by the People’s Front led by Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, with 21.8% of the vote
KIEV, October 26. /TASS/. Petro Poroshenko’s Bloc is leading Ukraine’s parliamentary polls with 22.2%, say the first results of exit-polls.
The Petro Poroshenko Bloc is followed by the People’s Front led by Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, with 21.8% of the vote. The third is Samopomoshch led by Mayor of Lviv Andrei Sadovy, with 14.2%
Yuri Boiko’s Opposition Bloc is winning 7.8% of votes. Oleg Lyashko’s Radical Party is scoring 6.4%, Yulia Tymoshenko-led Batkivshchyna - 5.6%, and Oleh Tyahnybok’s Svoboda - 6.3%
Other parties are not overcoming the five-percent barrier to win seats in the parliament.
The national exit poll was conducted by the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation, the Kiev International Institute of Sociology and Razumkov Ukrainian Center for Economic and Political Studies.
According to spokesman for the Ukrainian Central Election Commission Konstantin Khivrenko voting turnout at early parliamentary elections in Ukraine reached 40.77%.
The highest turnout has been observed in western Ukraine, namely the Lviv region, and the lowest turnout was shown in eastern Ukraine's Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
Ukrainian journalist Pavel Sheremet on Sunday forecast Petro Poroshenko Bloc will score 22-25% of the vote.
Citing preliminary results of opinion polls, he forecasts that the Petro Poroshenko Bloc will be followed by the People’s Front with 18-21% of the vote and Samopomoshch with 10%.
The Opposition Bloc, according to Sheremet, is expected to win about 10% the Radical Party - 8%, Batkivshchyna - about 6%, and Svodoba - 5-6%.
