KIEV, October 26. /TASS/. At the moment eighteen complaints have been made to the Ukrainian Central Commission (CEC), CEC deputy head Zhanna Usenko-Chyornaya said on Sunday.

“Sixteen complaints have been received by mail. Two complaints have been gotten directly: the first concerns violations of pre-election campaign and the second is related to preventing a CEC member from carrying out his duties,” she said.

“Other complaints have no impact on democracy and transparency of elections,” Usenko-Chyornaya said.

As many as 6,436 candidates claim the seats in Ukraine's parliament.

Under the law, 50% of deputies are elected on party lists and 50% on single-seat constituencies.

A total of 3,114 candidates from 29 parties seek to receive 225 mandates. Single-seat constituencies registered 3,322 candidates (2,019 self-nominated candidates and 1,303 nominees).

In the previous parliamentary elections in 2012 also 225 majority deputies were elected.

CEC head Mikhail Okhendovsky said this year the elections would not be held in several constituencies in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.

In 2012 the parliamentary elections were also held in two districts in Sevastopol and 10 districts of Crimea.

So, at present the number of majority deputies is expected not to exceed 198, that is, 27 seats will remain vacant.
