Leader of Chernihiv branch of Ukraine Committee of Voters attacked

KIEV, October 26. /TASS/. An attack has been made on the leader of the Chernihiv branch of the Committee of Voters of Ukraine, Vladimir Andreychenko, during the early parliamentary elections, the press service of the Committee of Voters of Ukraine (CVU) said on Sunday.

“The incident occurred at the polling station ·206 in the city of Chernihiv,” the press service said.

Policemen are searching for the attackers, it said.

Earlier, unknown people threw stones at a car with parliamentary deputies and journalists in the village of Subotsi, Kirovograd region, central Ukraine.

The Council's reports were placed on Twitter referring to the Interior Ministry’s latest information.

An exchange of gunfire was reported at the entry of the territorial commission in Krivoy Rog, Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk Region, a source in law enforcement agencies told TASS.

“Policemen have left for the spot. Now the circumstances are being found out,” the source said.

According to witnesses, the automatic gunfire was conducted at two parked cars.

Two passers-by have been injured and taken to hospital. The incident site has been cordoned off by servicemen of the "Krivbass" battalion, incorporated in the Dniepr-1 battalion. At present, law enforcers are working near the building of the territorial election commission.
