Kiev said that rights activists’ conclusions on Ukrainian army’s use of cluster munitions in east Ukraine’s troubled Donetsk region are based on unchecked information, second secretary of the Ukrainian Permanent Mission in the United Nations Yegor Pivovarov said at a meeting of the 4th committee of the UN General Assembly on Wednesday in reply to the Russian diplomat’s speech.

In the view of Pivovarov, the highly debated report delivered by international rights organization Human Rights Watch “was based on unchecked information” and rights activists “were intentionally misled.” “Ukraine never used and will not use banned weapons,” he said.
