Russia will support efforts aimed at resuming the talks on Syria
MOSCOW, October 21. /TASS/. The whole spectrum of opposition and all neighbouring countries should participate in talks on Syria, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said opening talks with UN general secretary’s envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura on Tuesday.
Lavrov said the fundamental principle is the need to create conditions under which Syrian sides, representatives of all ethnic, confessional and political groups will decide themselves on the future of their homeland.
Foreign minister said Russia will support efforts aimed at resuming the talks on Syria. He said many problems are based on the situation in Syria, among them the growing terrorism threat in the Middle East.
