Other problematic area is the border with China, in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region

MOSCOW, October 15. /TASS/. The situation on the Tajik-Afghan border, as well as on the border with China, in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is most difficult for border guards of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Alexander Davydov, an official of the Coordination Service of the Council of the CIS Border Troops Commanders said on Wednesday.

At the same time, Davydov said it is necessary to watch the situation in Ukraine.

He also said that the situation on the border with the Baltic States and in the Caucasian direction might complicate.

Border guards of the Commonwealth of Independent States have detained over 14,000 illegal migrants and confiscated 16 tons of drugs over the 10 years, Davydov noted.

Davydov said the deadline of the previous program for cooperation between the CIS border guard services was ending in 2015, and a new draft program for 2016-2020 has been prepared. The creation of a common information space is one of the key elements of the program, he said.

A databank of CIS documents on the border protection, analytical and reference information on the border situation in adjacent countries has been worked out. A common databank on weapons and equipment of border guard services is being prepared. A databank on citizens arriving to the CIS territory from third countries is being set up, Davydov said.
