Donetsk People’s Republic authorities ready for elections — official
DONETSK, October 14. /TASS/. The authorities of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) are ready to hold elections of the heads and parliamentarians, head of the DPR central election commission Roman Lyagin said on Tuesday.
Over three million ballots have been printed, Lyagin said.
“As for the number of electors, we built on the referendum’s figures. We consider them adequate and reliable - 3.198 million people,” he said.
At present, up to 50,000 people, who permanently lived in theself-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, are staying in Russia, he said.
He explained that people, who lost documents during the fighting, would be able to vote. “The voting is possible under temporary documents issued by the interior structures. Persons can vote at the age of 16,” Lyagin said.
