Ukrainian law enforcers transferred to emergency regime in run-up to polls

The law enforcers will focus special attention on the territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, says an advisor of the Interior minister of Ukraine

KIEV, October 13. /TASS/. More than 60,000 Interior servicemen and national guards will ensure law and order on the day of the election to the Ukrainian Rada scheduled for October 26. The Ukrainian law enforcers will be transferred to an emergency regime since October 16, Zoran Shkiryak, an advisor of the Interior minister of Ukraine, told a briefing on Monday.

The law enforcers will focus special attention on the territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, he said. Servicemen of the Ukrainian Interior ministry and special security forces from other areas of Ukraine will be additionally employed to ensure order on these territories, Shkiryak said.
