Early parliamentary election in Ukraine is scheduled for October 26

TOKYO, October 10. /TASS/. Japan will send a group of ten observers to the Ukrainian parliamentary elections due October 26, Japan’s Foreign Ministry said on Friday.

“Free and honest elections are very important for establishment of democracy in Ukraine as well as for support of peace and stability in the region,” the foreign ministry said in a statement. “We hope, presence of our observers will make an input in organisation of honest elections.”

The foreign ministry reports four observers are experts in Eastern Europe, and the other six are diplomats working at Japan’s embassy in Kiev.

Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko dissolved Ukraine's parliament in late August in a move to clean the parliament from the allies of his predecessor Viktor Yanukovych and scheduled snap parliamentary elections for October 26.
