Implementing a peace plan is impossible with an open border, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk says

KIEV, October 8. /TASS/. Ukraine's government has allocated another €6 million to finance the construction of its projected wall to strengthen the border with Russia, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk told a government session on Wednesday.

“Restoration of Ukraine’s control on the border with Russia is a key element of the September 5 Minsk agreements” reached at a meeting of the international Contact Group on settling the Ukraine conflict, Yatsenyuk said.

“Sealing off the border is the main thing. Implementing a peace plan is impossible with an open border,” he added.

The prime minister said 235 million hryvnias ($18 million) had already been allocated for a program, the total cost of which stands at €66 million.
