KIEV, October 7. /TASS/. The delivery of drones for the OSCE (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe) Special Monitoring Mission will be completed on October 13, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said on Tuesday.

He said the first two drones had been delivered to Ukraine.

Earlier, OSCE spokesman Michael Bociurkiw told TASS that drones had arrived from Austria. Bociurkiw said drones would be used in several weeks. Now there is no strict schedule for starting their use, he said.

Andriy Lysenko, head of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Committee, said the use of drones would help the observers work in the ceasefire area. “Now there are two drones. We’re forming groups of specialists that can handle them. We hope that their use will make the observers’ work more effective,” he said.

Lysenko declined to specify how many drones would be delivered to Ukraine.

The OSCE Secretariat earlier said that the drones would be used to monitor the Ukrainian-Russian border and compliance with the ceasefire agreement reached in Minsk on September 5.
