Russian MPs ready to monitor Ukraine election if invited — official

MOSCOW, October 7. /TASS/. Lawmakers from Russia's parliamentary upper house are ready to join international teams monitoring Ukraine's October 26 parliamentary election, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko said on Tuesday.

The house was ready to monitor the poll both as part of the Commonwealth of Independent States team and as parliamentarians but for this an invitation was needed, Matviyenko told TASS.

Ukraine’s Central Election Commission on Monday registered another 55 international observers to monitor the early election. Nineteen observers have been registered from Denmark, 12 from Poland, 17 from the International Center for Electoral Systems and seven from the National Democratic Institute.
