KIEV, October 7. /TASS/. The Ukrainian parliament on Tuesday passed documents on changes of borders of eastern Ukraine's Luhansk region. The aim of the changes is ensuring control and order”.

The need to consider border changes arose when some areas in the region went out of control of Ukrainian authorities, the president’s representative in the parliament Ruslan Knyazevich explained earlier.

President Petro Poroshenko on Monday urged legislators to consider the documents first of all.

Acting head of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic, Igor Plotnitsky, said Kiev’s claims to change the region’s borders are groundless. “Poroshenko may dream about what he wants," Plotnitsky told reporters on Tuesday, after he submitted documents to the Central Election Commission for registration as a candidate for the post of head of the Luhansk republic.

The documents envisage changing the borders of the central Novoaidar and western Popasnaya districts.
