DONETSK, October 6. /TASS/. There are many unexploded rounds and shells left at the Malaysian Boeing wreckage site in the Donetsk region after fighting between Kiev-controlled armed forces and the militia, First Vice-Premier of the Donetsk People’s Republic Andrey Purgin told TASS.

“The Ukrainian side earlier attempted to take control of the crash site. Fierce fighting took place there with the use of artillery. Fragments of the airliner are scattered in a radius of four to five kilometers. There are many unexploded rounds and shells,” the vice-premier said.

On Sunday, a TASS correspondent reported the site of the Boeing 777 crash is not guarded by anyone, and the access to the site is free. According to the report, there are books, children’s toys, clothes and documents among the debris

Boeing 777 of Malaysia Airlines, which was on a flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, crashed in Ukraine’s Donetsk region on July 17. All the 298 people on board died. A team of 30 Malaysian experts arrived in Ukraine on September 8 to continue gathering evidence as well as search for remains of crash victims. However, reports said that the investigative team could not gain access to the crash site due to fierce fighting between government forces and militia.
