Pavlo Klimkin said Ukraine is working on new forms of cooperation without declaring the accession goal
KIEV, October 3. /TASS/. Ukraine is not declaring its goal for joining NATO, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said on Friday.
“Ukraine should find a model of its security,” he said answering a question about Ukraine’s chances to integrate into the North Atlantic Alliance.
However, Klimkin said: “In order to join NATO public consensus is indispensable in Ukraine and in NATO.”
“Now we’re working on new forms of cooperation without declaring the accession goal,” he said.
Commenting on the purposes of Ukraine’s foreign policy, Klimkin said Ukraine “should become a key European great power and a EU member with global ambitions”.
