Ukraine revises plan for project of wall with Russa — Ukrainian Border Guard Service

KIEV, October 1. /TASS/. The Ukrainian authorities revised the plan for implementing the Wall project to reinforce the border with Russia, assistant to the head of Ukrainian Border Guard Service, Sergei Astakhov, said on Wednesday.

The project will be controlled by the Ukrainian Border Guard Service to ease the procedure for putting the facility into operation, Astakhov said.

The government will publish a resolution after a new plan is approved. The government will also determine the budget and its deadline, Ukraine’s Capital Daily quotes Astakhov as saying.

Earlierreports said, the first stage of the works was to be over on September 30.

On September 3, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said Ukraine was beginning construction of the real border with Russia of 2,295 kilometres long.

All facilities of the border will be re-equipped, Yatsenyuk said, adding that Kiev provided $7.7 million to the project.
