UNITED NATIONS, September 27. /ITAR-TASS/. Germany does not see the prospects for political settlement of the current crisis in Ukraine any time soon, Foreign Minister Frank Walter Steinmeyer said Saturday in the course of a general political discussion at the UN General Assembly session.

He said he did not have any illusions as regards the remote prospects for a political resolution of the crisis in the former Soviet republic yet he recalled that a mere few weeks before that there had been the possibility of a direct confrontation between the Russian and Ukrainian Armed Forces.
