MOSCOW, September 26. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s Foreign Ministry on Friday refuted a Reuters report on an alleged meeting between the Russian and Ukrainian military supposedly taking place in the Donetsk region in order to discuss the buffer zone in Eastern Ukraine.

“All the problems related to implementation of the ceasefire agreement are discussed by representatives of the Ukrainian side and separate districts of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions,” the Foreign Ministry said. “Russia’s role as a party to the negotiations and a member of the contact group is to ensure appropriate facilitation of the process in collaboration with observers of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe /OSCE/.”

Andrey Lysenko, a spokesman for Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council said earlier on Friday that representatives of Ukraine, Russia and the OSCE had gotten down to an activity as part of a trilateral workgroup in charge of control and coordination of issues related to the East-Ukrainian ceasefire and a gradual stabilization of the line of disengagement between the warring sides.

On Thursday, Ukraine’s President Pyotr Poroshenko said the first team of OSCE and Russian inspectors might get down to discussion in the town of Debaltsevo before Saturday afternoon.

Latest agreements reached by the Contact Group for Ukraine in Minsk suggest that the sides should pull all the arms with the caliber of more than 100 mm from the contact line, set up a 30-km disengagement zone and dismantle all the mine barrages.
