EU-Canada summit to focus on situation in Ukraine — European Commission

BRUSSELS, September 24. /ITAR-TASS/. The situation in Ukraine will be one of the priority issues at the EU-Canada summit due to be held in Ottawa and Toronto on September 26, the European Commission said in a statement on Wednesday.

The EU and Canadian leaders will discuss several issues related to global peace and security. The situation in Ukraine, including cooperation in the Eastern Partnership programme, will be central of these discussions, the European Commission said.

The European Union will be represented by President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy, European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso and European Commissioner for Trade Karel De Gucht. Canada will be represented by Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Minister of International Trade Ed Fast.
