The election process will be hampered by the fact that the significant part of the self-proclaimed republic’s territory is under control of the Kiev authorities, Andrei Purgin said

DONETSK, September 24. /ITAR-TASS/. The preparations for the elections in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) will be a difficult task, DPR’s First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Purgin said on Wednesday.

“Taking into consideration that, with just more than a month left before the elections, due on November 2, of course, the process will be difficult and very rough,” Purgin said.

The election process will be hampered by the fact that the significant part of the self-proclaimed republic’s territory is under control of the Kiev authorities, Purgin added.

So far, some 500 election commissions have been established, which is not enough to carry out the vote, Purgin said.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Supreme Council of the DPR scheduled the local elections of the head and parliament for November 2. The vote is due to be held simultaneously with the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR).
