KIEV, September 23. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said on Tuesday he would make a working visit to the United States on September 24-25 to take part in the 69th session of the UN General Assembly.

“During the stay in New York, the premier is expected in general discussions of the UN General Assembly,” the premier’s website said.

Yatsenyuk will meet with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and have talks with heads of delegations of other UN member-countries.

Yatsenyuk is planning to confer with US businessmen and the leadership of American investment and financial institutions, as well as with representatives of non-governmental organizations.

Petro Poroshenko demanded to stay in Ukraine

On September 22, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said President Petro Poroshenko might not take part in the political discussions at the UN General Assembly.

“This issue is not being discussed. We hoped that the president would speak at the General Assembly and take part in several major events,” Klimkin said.

The development of events demands the head of state should stay in the country. “Probably, there will be some changes in the agenda. But a decision will be made shortly,” he said.

The political discussion at the Assembly will begin on September 24. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is scheduled to speak on September 27.
