SIMFEROPOL, September 22. /ITAR-TASS/. Freelance reporter Anna Mokhova, working for state broadcaster Krim - translating as Crimea - was freed from Ukrainian special service captivity during a prisoner exchange, editor-in-chief Ekaterina Kozir said on Monday.

"She is on the territory of Novorossiya right now," the editor said, referring to the new name given by authorities of the two self-proclaimed eastern regions of Donetsk and Luhansk.

Mokhova was freed in the latest swapping of prisoners held by the two sides engaged in hostilities between militia forces in Ukraine's east and government troops.

"We are holding negotiations on her delivery to Crimea because she needs medical and psychological treatment," the editor added at the time, expecting contact with the journalist by 9am UTC following her release from detention in the northeast Ukrainian region of Kharkiv.

Mokhova disappeared on August 24 travelling to the Donbass region combat zone.
