KIEV, September 19. /ITAR-TASS/. A mission of the OSCE Bureau for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights in Ukraine has invited observers from Russia to take part in monitoring of the election campaign in Ukraine.

Head of the OSCE mission in Ukraine Tana de Zulueta told ITAR-TASS on Friday that Russian parliamentarians may take part in the monitoring of the parliamentary election in Ukraine.

“The participation of the Russian parliamentarians in monitoring the election process in Ukraine is quite possible,” Tana de Zulueta told ITAR-TASS.

Sixteen experts of the OSCE mission have already arrived in Ukraine, and 80 more experts who will stay in Ukraine on a long-term basis are to arrive next week, she said. All in all around 600 OSCE experts, who will arrive in Ukraine for a short term, will monitor the parliamentary election in Ukraine. The OSCE mission includes representatives of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, NATO Parliamentary Assembly, the Council of Europe and other organizations, Tana de Zulueta said.

Meanwhile, the Central Election Commission of Ukraine had called into question the presence of observers from the Russian Duma at the parliamentary election in Ukraine. Deputy chairman of the Central Election Commission of Ukraine Andrei Megera told ITAR-TASS that the Russian parliamentarians “are no representatives of the international organization; they are representatives of the parliament of a different country”.

The parliamentary election in Ukraine will be held on October 26.
