KIEV, September 17. /ITAR-TASS/. More than 2,400 Ukrainian law enforcers taking part in a military operation in the breakaway southeast of the country are on the list of missing in action or taken captive, Ukrainian president’s envoy for the settlement of the situation in the country’s east, Irina Gerashchenko, posted on Facebook on Wednesday.

She said the lists had been presented by the Ukrainian Security Service’s center for the release of captives and search for missing in action.

Gerashchenko said the Security Service was daily updating the lists. Some 1,000 captives have been set free, she added.

On September 5 the trilateral Contact Group on Ukraine (Russia, Ukraine and the OSCE) and representatives of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s republics reached an agreement in Minsk on ceasefire in Ukraine’s southeast, troops withdrawal, exchange of prisoners and provision of humanitarian aid.

In line with the Minsk agreements reached within the framework of the Contact Group, the exchange of prisoners of war is to be done in the format “all for all”.
