Another exchange of prisoners of war between Donetsk and Kiev to take place in 2 days
The exchange will take place in the format 50 for 50, according to the chairperson of the Donetsk People’s Republic’s committee for prisoners of war
DONETSK, September 16. /ITAR-TASS/. Another exchange of prisoners of war between Donetsk militia and the Ukrainian army will take place in two days in case agreements are reached on that matter with the Ukrainian side, Darya Morozova, the chairperson of the Donetsk People’s Republic’s (DPR) committee for prisoners of war, told ITAR-TASS on Tuesday.
“The exchange will take place in the format 50 for 50. But so far, it is only a preliminary agreement. All will depend on how promptly the Ukrainian side presents its lists and coordinates the procedure,” she said.
On Sunday, September 14, seventy-three Ukrainian servicemen had been exchanged for 69 Donetsk self-defense fighters. The first official exchange of prisoners of war took place on September 12 when each party released 37 people.
In line with the Minsk agreements reached within the framework of the Contact Group on Ukraine on September 5, the exchange of prisoners of war is to be done in the "all for all" format.
