Russia’s new retaliation measures to be hardly useful — minister

ISTANBUL, September 16. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev said on Tuesday he believed that Russia’s new package of countermeasures to Western sanctions would hardly be useful.

“As for agriculture, such measures (Russia’s food embargo) are more or less understandable as Russia can both fully supply itself with food and can also be a large food exporter,” Ulyukayev said.

“But I don’t understand this logic in relation to other sectors. That is why, I believe that such measures would hardly be useful,” the economy minister said.
