Contact Group for Ukraine prepares detailed memorandum on ceasefire agreements
One of the clauses obliges the parties in conflict to exchange all prisoners
MINSK, September 05. /ITAR-TASS/. The Contact Group for Ukraine is working out a detailed memorandum on agreements for a ceasefire and truce in Ukraine, a source at the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) told ITAR-TASS on Friday.
After a short meeting with journalists, the Contact Group continued its meeting.
“The memorandum will describe the ceasefire agreements step by step,” the DPR source said.
One of the clauses obliges the parties in conflict to exchange all prisoners.
The representative of the Donetsk People’s Republic, however, said it would be hard to implement the “all-for-all” principle because the memorandum did not take note of hundreds of abducted people. “No one knows where they are,” he said.
In addition to that, the memorandum will contain another vital provision obliging the Ukrainian side, the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Luhansk People’s Republic to pull back their troops from residential areas.
Participants of Contact Group on Ukraine plan to complete work on Friday, source added.
