NEWPORT (UK), September 05. /ITAR-TASS/.German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that the adoption of new EU sanctions can be postponed if the crisis in eastern Ukraine de-escalates, Reuters reported on Friday.
The European Union was expected to impose new sanctions on Russia by Friday, according to Italian Foreign Minister Federica Mogherini.
On September 3, Russian President Vladimir Putin unveiled a seven-point peace plan for eastern Ukraine urging the conflicting sides to end offensive operations.
