An earthquake of magnitude 3.5 led to the collapse
PARIS, September 5. /ITAR-TASS/. An earthquake of magnitude 3.5 triggered a gas explosion and a collapse in a coal mine in central Bosnia and Herzegovina. As a result, 34 miners found themselves trapped underground, AFP news agency reports.
“Out of 56 miners that were underground in this moment, 22 managed to get out,” said Esad Civic, representative for the mine’s management. “We are contacting them. They are going strong, and they have enough air to wait for the rescue teams.”
Civic specified that passages in two tunnels collapsed after the explosion.
Aside from this incident, the earthquake did not let to any other destructions.
