Poroshenko pledges to do everything possible to end war in Ukraine
“Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity could not be a subject for the talks,” Poroshenko said
NEWPORT (GREAT BRITAIN), September 04 /ITAR-TASS/. Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko has pledged to do everything possible to end war in eastern Ukraine.
He expressed “cautious optimism” about the forthcoming meeting of the Contact Group for Ukraine slated to be held in Minsk on September 5 and prospects of a ceasefire in southeast Ukraine.
"Under these circumstances, it is very important for the OSCE to monitor the situation; it is necessary to seek the release of all hostages and ensure control over the Russian border,” Poroshenko said after a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine commission held on the sidelines of NATO summit in Wales.
Poroshenko expects the talks to be difficult.
“Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity could not be a subject for the talks,” Poroshenko said. His stance has enlisted the support of all NATO states.
