BERLIN, September 03. /ITAR-TASS/. The world community, including Germany, is ready to contribute to a ceasefire in Ukraine, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said on Wednesday.
“The Presidents, [Petro] Poroshenko and [Vladimir]Putin, are bearing big responsibility these days for their peoples, for their countries and for Europe as a whole,” he said.
At present, real steps are indispensable to establish a truce in Ukraine, Steinmeier said.
“We’re ready to support this way by repeating the Geneva format or other international formats,” he said.
Earlier in the day, Russian President Vladimir Putin said he and his Ukrainian counterpart Petro Poroshenko had discussed a plan to settle the situation in Ukraine.
