Militia in southeast Ukraine needs no Russian military aid — commander
“If Russia wishes to help us, no military aid will be. Humanitarian aid must be rendered because not only militias but also civilians suffer,” militia commander says
YALTA, August 29. /ITAR-TASS/. The self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic militia needs no Russia’s military aid, its commander Alexei Mozgovoi said on Friday.
“Now militia is using weaponry, seized from the National Guard of Ukraine,” he said, adding “All weaponry is our trophy. We have enough of it.”
Russian humanitarian aid is only indispensable for southeastern Ukraine. “If Russia wishes to help us, no military aid will be. Humanitarian aid must be rendered because not only militias but also civilians suffer,” Mozgovoi said.
He said most of Ukrainian weaponry was being supplied from Europe. This is Soviet-made weaponry, Mozgovoy said.
“Poland and the Czech Republic are supplying weapons to the Ukrainian army. Armoured vehicles and other hardware are being drawn from Eastern Europe,” he said.
Mozgovoi said, “Mercenaries and military specialists from the US, Poland, the United Kingdom etc are serving in the headquarters in Kiev and taking part in battles as commanders of units and warfare specialists. They are directly participating in combat operations and killing our people.”
“These are not volunteers but specially trained units,” he added.
