BRUSSELS, August 29. /ITAR-TASS /. Ambassadors to NATO Council held emergency meeting over  the situation in the east of Ukraine on Friday in the capital of Belgium, a source in the headquarters of the alliance said.

The meeting of ambassadors will be followed by talks with an envoy to the alliance from Ukraine. An agreement to convene the meeting was reached yesterday at a meeting with the ambassador of Ukraine to NATO Igor Dolgov, Deputy Secretary General NATO Alexander Vershbow.
