Real prospects seen for Iran nuclear problem settlement — FM
Moscow expects all the participants in the talks to show political will to come to final agreements to fully restore confidence in the peaceful character of the Iranian nuclear program
MOSCOW, August 28./ITAR-TASS/. Real prospects are seen for Iran to exercise its right for uranium enrichment and lifting of sanctions, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Thursday in connection with the visit by Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif to Moscow, planned for August 29.
The agreements reached in Geneva on November 24, 2013 on the Iranian nuclear program open real prospects to come to a long-term and reliable settlement of the problem in November this year. Despite the uneasy negotiating process, a possibility is seen for the full realization of the rights of Iran as a member country of the Nuclear Weapons Nonproliferation Treaty, including the right for uranium enrichment and lifting of the sanction regime, the ministry said.
Moscow expects all the participants in the talks to show political will to come to final mutually acceptable agreements to fully restore confidence of the international community in the peaceful character of the Iranian nuclear program. It would have a favourable effect on the situation in the Middle East and help create a zone free of mass destruction weapons in the region, the Russian Foreign Ministry added.
