New French сabinet takes up its duties

Observers noted that the number of ministers in the second Valls’s government remains the same

PARIS, Aug. 27. /ITAR-TASS/. A new government in France, formed on Tuesday by Prime Minister Manuel Valls will start working on August 27. Cabinet reshuffle did not affect key ministries whose leaders kept their posts.

Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius will continue his work as well as heads of ministries of defense Jean-Yves Le Drian and domestic affairs Bernard Cazeneuve. Michel Sapin retained control of key ministries of finance and public accounts. Stephane Le Foll remained minister of Agriculture and the official representative of the government.

Segolene Royal controls the ministry of environment, energy and sustainable development. Christiane Taubira remains the minister of justice. Observers noted that the number of ministers in the second Valls’s government remains the same - 16. The prime minister Valse managed to maintain gender parity. There are eight men and eight women in the office.
