Spokesperson for the Red Cross regional delegation for Russia, Belarus and Moldova, Viktoria Zotikova says safety guarantees are needed from all parties
MOSCOW, August 22. /ITAR-TASS/. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) cannot make any forecast as to when the Russian humanitarian aid convoy bound for east Ukraine will start moving, the spokesperson for the ICRC regional delegation for Russia, Belarus and Moldova, Viktoria Zotikova, told ITAR-TASS.
“So far the convoy does not move as safety guarantees are needed” from all parties, she said.
“If some of them (guarantees) are missing, we consider the situation not safe. The general situation is important,” she said.
According to Zotikova, the head of ICRC operations for Europe and Central Asia Laurent Corbaz is leaving Moscow late on Friday, and another meeting is not ruled out.
