DONETSK, August 20. /ITAR-TASS/. The militias of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic have detained two Ukrainian troopers whom they suspect of being fire adjusters, the Novorossiya news agency reported on Wednesday.

"The Mech (Sword) and the Varyag special militia units seized two fire adjusters in the territory of the Makeyevka motor depot. The third managed to escape,” a source at the militia headquarters said.

The Ukrainian army resumed the shelling of Makeyevka near Donetsk at 6:30 Moscow time on Wednesday. The fire is presumably coming from Yasinovka (a populated locality near Yasinovataya). Some witnesses say the Ukrainian military are firing from the village of Khanzhokovo which was hit by an air strike a day earlier on Tuesday.

The Ukrainian army shelled the center of Donetsk on the night to Wednesday causing several powerful explosions. Witnesses reported finding an unexploded unguided rocket outside the former building of Ukraine’s Security Service. No casualties have been reported.

Meanwhile, the Yasinovka coke plant went ablaze in the town of Makeyevka after being hit by a shell.

All employees were evacuated while production came to a halt.

Another shell fired by Ukrainian army hit a storehouse with tire casings, also setting it on fire. Acrid black smoke is rising over Donetsk at the moment. Sounds of exploding shells can be heard in various parts of the city.
