TALLINN, August 18. /ITAR-TASS/. Estonia will temporarily restore border control with the European Union before US President Barack Obama’s visit to this Baltic republic, Interior Minister Hanno Pevkur said on Monday.

“It will become effective in the last few days of August,” he said, adding that border control procedure would be put in place three or five days before the US leader’s visit.

Obama will arrive in Estonia on September 3 and then will travel on to Wales to take part in a NATO summit. During the visit, Obama will meet with the Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian leaders and give a lecture in Tallinn.

About 1,800 policemen will ensure security during Obama’s visit to Estonia. “We will have to use additional forces from all prefectures,” the minister said.
