Ukraine Rada rejects three bills aiming to amend election legislation

KIEV, August 14./ITAR-TASS/. Ukraine's parliament, the Verkhovna Rada,rejected on Thursday three bills aimed at amending the election legislation.
One of the bills envisaged elections in Ukraine on the open list proportional representation system, the other was aimed to make the election campaign shorter and reduce the threshold for parties’ getting into the parliament to three percent, while the third one was aimed at cancelling election deposits. At the Tuesday plenary session, deputies also rejected three bills on reform of the Ukrainian election system.
