Airbus to continue work with Russian partners despite sanctions
Russian flagship airline Aeroflot is Airbus’s main customer in Russia
MOSCOW, August 13. /ITAR-TASS/. The European aircraft-building corporation Airbus continues its cooperation with Russian partners in a normal regime, despite western sanctions against Russia, Airbus Vice-President for Eastern Europe and Central Asia Andreas Kramer said on Wednesday.
Kramer said in an interview with Rossiya-24 TV Channel that Airbus continued working with its Russian customers and suppliers.
Airbus’ units in Russia continue working according to plan and there are no disruptions in the aircraft manufacturer’s work with Russian partners, airlines or producers, the Airbus official said.
Airbus manufactures aircraft for sale while lease is a separate area on the market where there are special leasing companies, either Russian or western, which purchase airliners and lease them out to Russian firms, he said. The Airbus official said he hoped that this process would continue.
