Hackers spread false information about Ebola virus outbreak in US
Earlier in August, two American citizens infected with the Ebola virus had been brought to Emory University hospital in Atlanta to undergo treatment
NEW YORK, August 11. /ITAR-TASS/. A group of unidentified hackers vandalized the Yahoo News Internet portal and released a series of false reports about "an outbreak of Ebola fever" in the United States.
Hackers said the epidemic allegedly broke out in Atlanta,"where145 people were infected after a group of doctors affected with the Ebola virus returned from Africa."
The hackers' report was broadly circulated on other Internet sites within a few minutes after it was released. Later, the Yahoo administration officially declared that its Internet portal was hacked, and that the news about an outbreak of the epidemic was false.
