“If the truce comes into force and the ceasefire is not violated, Israel’s delegation will go to Cairo to continue talks on lasting settlement,” - said a governmental source in Jerusalem
TEL AVIV, August 10, /ITAR-TASS/. Israel has accepted Egypt’s initiative on another 72-hour truce in Gaza, a governmental source in Jerusalem told Itar-Tass on Sunday.
“If the truce comes into force and the ceasefire is not violated, Israel’s delegation will go to Cairo to continue talks on lasting settlement,” the source said.
Last Friday, the Israeli delegation left the Egyptian capital city after the previous 72-hour truce had expired. Israel insisted on the disarmament of armed groups active in the Gaza Strip, while Palestinians refused to do that. Apart from that, the Israeli side was categorically against any talks under fire.
