KIEV, August 08. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukrainian protesters against Kiev authorities decided to bring back vehicles seized from utility services on Thursday and unblock the traffic on central Kiev’s Kreshchatik Street, the Kiev mayor’s office told ITAR-TASS on Friday.

The Kiev mayor’s office cited deals reached between protesters and Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko who visited central Kiev’s Independence Square.

“We have agreed to unblock the traffic on Kreshchatik. Activists also pledged to the mayor to bring back vehicles they captured from utility services,” Kiev authorities said.

Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office said on Friday that “Maidan protesters violate the law systematically, stir up disorder and commit crimes, such as racket, armed attacks and robberies.” “Law enforcers have detained a group of radically driven young people, who live temporarily at tents on Independence Square, in an attempt at an armed seizure of a Kiev private restaurant,” Kiev authorities said.

Maidan activists confirmed to ITAR-TASS that they jointly with utility workers would start cleaning up the Kreshchatik driveway on Friday. “We have agreed that we will remove junk and barricades from some part of Kreshchatik Street together. The clean-up will start at the noon GMT,” a protester said. Meanwhile, he added that activists did not want to continue a protest action in central Kiev. “We are not going to break up,” he said, failing to reply to a question for how long activists intend to live on the Independence Square.

On Thursday, utility workers tried to remove barricades in central Kiev, fulfilling orders from city authorities, but protesters opposed this move, stirring up clashes with police and utility services. Oppositionists were crying out slogans to stage a third protest Maidan movement against incumbent authorities and to go to topple Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko. Police said 50 policemen and four utility workers were wounded. Ten protesters were detained.
