MOSCOW, August 06./ITAR-TASS/.  About 200 Ukrainian army soldiers who crossed into the neighbouring Rostov region in southern Russia’s on August 4 have been sent back home, the Federal Security Service’s regional office spokesperson Vasily Malayev sad on Wednesday.

“Most of these servicemen understand that they can face penalties in Ukraine for deserting their positions. And yet all of them decided to return home,” he said.

Two wounded Ukrainian servicemen are being treated at Russian clinics, the acting director of the information policy department at Ukrainian Foreign Ministry told reporters on Wednesday.

“According to our Consulate General in Rostov-on-Don [southern Russia], two Ukrainian servicemen are being cured at clinics in Russia,” Vasil Zvarych said, adding that “28 wounded servicemen were handed over to Ukraine in a military operation in the country’s east. Three of them died of wounds.”

Twenty-two injured servicemen are being treated in Lithuania, Latvia, Poland and Israel, the Foreign Ministry’s official said.
