It is necessary to detain Ukrainian servicemen who have crossed the Russian border to find out whether they were involved in crimes, the chairman of the parliament of Novorossia says

DONETSK, August 5./ITAR-TASS/.Oleg Tsaryov, the chairman of the parliament of Novorossia (the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk republics), said on Tuesday that Ukrainian servicemen who crossed into Russia should be detained to check whether they were involved in Kiev's crimes.

"Russia receives them, provides medical care for the wounded and returns many to Ukraine. It raises questions among residents of Novorossia, who have already suffered much from Ukrainian government forces. It is necessary to detain Ukrainian servicemen who have crossed the Russian border to find out whether they were involved in crimes and open criminal cases against punitive units that were near bombarded Novorossia cities," Tsaryov wrote on Twitter.

People in Novorossia are not pleased with the fact that Ukrainian servicemen who escaped from militia cross into Russia and then return to Ukraine, Tsaryov said.

Given the increasing number of groups under white flags, it seems to be a stratagem. Having no other possibility to go out of the "southern pot" encirclement, the Ukrainian military this way are redeployed through Russia's territory, he supposed.

"We propose considering another solution to the problem. Ukrainian servicemen who cross Russia’s border must be detained until it is found out whether they were involved in crimes in Odessa, Mariupol, Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, Luhansk and other cities of Novorossia. It would make the move of the Russia side to save Ukrainian soldiers more justified for Novorossia's residents. We do not want the military who have escaped from "the pots" (surrounded areas) to reinforce sparse ranks of punitive forces and again begin fighting against people of Novorossia," the speaker said.
