ALABINO (Moscow Region), August 04. /ITAR-TASS/. German weapon producer Rheinmetall’s refusal to continue working on a combat training centre in Russia will not affect commissioning terms, Russian Deputy Minister of Defense said on Monday.

“Rheinmetall holds no more than ten percent in the project. Lawsuits will follow if the German side breaches the contract,” the official said.

The German government stopped realization of the agreement between the company and the Russian army following EU sectoral sanctions. The centre in the Russian settlement of Mulino was expected to train up to 30,000 servicemen a year. The deal was estimated at 120 million euros.

In March, the German government announced freeze of cooperation on this project amid the events in Ukraine. According to Suddeutsche Zeitung daily and the German government, the permit for participation in construction has been revoked.

Military simulators in Mulino are planned to create a 3D battlefield for 700 soldiers. A seven-day course will also include training with laser fire simulators and tactical exercise.
